Location: Lexington, KY
Position Type: Travel Assignment
Pay Rate: $25 per hour
Shift: Night Shift – 5×8-Hour Shifts (11:00 PM – 7:30 AM)

About the Sterile Processing Technician Role
Crown Staffing is seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) to join a surgical services team in Lexington, KY, on a travel assignment. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the sterility and availability of surgical instruments for a Level 1 trauma center. The ideal candidate will have advanced knowledge of decontamination, sterilization, and surgical instrument reprocessing across multiple surgical service lines.
Key Responsibilities
-Perform decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and case cart preparation for surgical instruments.
-Execute scope reprocessing, ensuring compliance with infection prevention and sterilization standards.
Maintain high proficiency in multiple surgical service lines, including:
-Orthopedics
-Neurosurgery
-Cardiothoracic (CT) surgery
-Trauma procedures
-Vascular surgery
-Oral and maxillofacial surgery
-Plastic surgery
-Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) surgery
-General surgery
-Ensure timely and accurate instrument availability to support surgical teams.
-Adhere to hospital policies and HIPAA compliance requirements, including successful completion of core HIPAA exams.
-Maintain efficiency in a high-volume, fast-paced environment within a Level 1 trauma center.
-Comply with all sterilization, infection control, and safety regulations.
Sterile Processing Technician Requirements
Experience:
-Minimum 3+ years of experience in sterile processing (required).
-Prior travel experience in a similar role (required).
-Experience working in a Level 1 trauma center (required).
Technical Skills:
-Strong proficiency in all aspects of sterile processing and instrument reprocessing.
-Ability to work with complex surgical instrumentation across multiple specialties.
-Expertise in decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and case cart preparation.
