Environmental Services (EVS) Technician Job Description Location: New Albany, IN Schedule: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM | 5 days per week (Rotating weekends) Pay Rate: $16/hour Position Type: Temp-to-Hire About the Environmental Services (EVS) Technician Role Crown Staffing is seeking a dedicated Environmental Services (EVS) Technician to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment in a hospital setting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for cleaning assigned areas, handling potentially infectious materials, and ensuring compliance with safety and hospital regulations. Key Responsibilities -Clean and maintain assigned areas to provide a sanitary and safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors. -Handle blood, blood by-products, and other potentially infectious materials following bloodborne pathogen safety protocols. -Use proper disinfecting, mopping, wiping, polishing, vacuuming, buffing, and trash removal techniques. -Follow hospital policies and Environmental Services procedures, including mixing and handling cleaning chemicals safely. -Operate housekeeping equipment, such as buffers, vacuums, and mops. -Follow universal precautions to prevent infection and maintain cleanliness. Environmental Services (EVS) Technician Requirements -Must be able to work from a ladder and perform bending, stooping, stretching, and extensive walking. -Strong attention to detail to ensure hospital cleanliness. -Good verbal communication skills. -Prior experience in hospital or healthcare housekeeping is a plus.
