Location: Louisville, KY
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Pay Rate: $75,000 – $84,000 annually
Position Type: Direct Hire
About the Food Safety & Quality Manager Role
Crown Staffing is seeking an experienced Food Safety & Quality Manager to oversee compliance and quality assurance at a food manufacturing site in Louisville, KY. This role ensures regulatory compliance with FSQ standards, HACCP, FSMA, SQF, and product certifications (Organic, Kosher, etc.). The ideal candidate will lead continuous improvement initiatives, track FSQ metrics, and manage audit preparation, recall plans, and food defense programs.
Food Safety & Quality Manager Requirements
-Education: Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) in Food Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent training and experience.
-Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years in Food Safety & Quality (FSQ) within the food, beverage, or consumer products industry.
-Certifications: HACCP, PCQI, HARPC, and SQF Practitioner.
Skills & Knowledge:
-Experience conducting FSQ audits.
-Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
-Administrative and computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
Key Responsibilities
-Regulatory Compliance & Audits
Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations, state and local requirements.
-Maintain HACCP and FSQ plans, updating as needed to reflect process or regulatory changes.
-Serve as SQF Practitioner and primary audit contact.
-Develop and lead food safety and quality training programs for all plant personnel.
-Monitor FSQ metrics, trends, and non-conformance issues, implementing corrective actions.
-Lead root cause investigations for quality-related incidents and oversee resolutions.
-Maintain accurate FSQ policies, documentation, and record-keeping for inspections and audits.
-Lead material qualification testing and incoming material inspections.
-Oversee food safety risk assessments, ensuring compliance with FSMA Preventive Controls.
-Serve as the Recall and Food Defense Team leader, ensuring ongoing plan validation and training.
Collaboration & Leadership
-Partner with the corporate FSQ team and local site management to ensure quality standards.
-Work cross-functionally with production, operations, and supply chain teams to support FSQ goals.
-Travel as needed to other plant locations or corporate sites.
