About the Correctional Officer Role Safe and humane management of prisoners. Interacting with prisoners to aid in rehabilitation programs. Applying rules consistently and fairly. Monitoring the integrity of the perimeter, locks, ventilation, etc. Contacting center operations and requesting personnel in the event of an emergency. Overseeing inmate and prisoner transport Restraining inmates when necessary.
