About the Heavy Equipment Service Technician role
We are seeking a skilled Construction Heavy Equipment Service Technician with a strong background in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy machinery. The ideal candidate will have their own tools and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
– Diagnose and Repair: Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on heavy construction equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, backhoes, boom trucks, loaders, scissor lifts, etc.
– Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and service tasks including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks to ensure equipment operates efficiently and safely.
– Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all service and repair work completed, including parts used and labor hours.
– Collaboration: Work closely with project managers and operators to assess equipment needs and recommend repairs or replacements as necessary.
– Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
– Tool Management: Utilize and maintain personal tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.
– Customer Interaction: Communicate effectively with clients regarding equipment issues, maintenance schedules, and service recommendations.

Job Requirements
– Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a heavy equipment technician or related field.
– Education: High school diploma or equivalent; certification from a technical school or apprenticeship program in heavy equipment maintenance is preferred.
– Technical Skills: Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems in heavy machinery.
– Tools: Must possess a complete set of personal tools required for equipment repair and maintenance.
– Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., ASE, EPA, or OEM-specific training) are a plus.
– Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods, pass a Human performance test (physical)
