Cook Job Description Location: Indianapolis, IN Pay: $20.00 per hour Schedule: Full-Time | Shift Varies Position Type: Temp-to-Hire About the Cook Role Crown Staffing is hiring an experienced Cook in Indianapolis, IN to prepare and serve high-quality meals in a commercial kitchen setting. The ideal candidate will have experience cooking for 300+ guests, knowledge of food preparation techniques, and the ability to maintain high sanitation standards. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities -Prepare and cook meals following standardized recipes and food safety guidelines. -Assist with food and meal preparation for large-scale food service operations. -Maintain high standards of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen safety practices. -Properly handle, store, and label food items to maintain freshness and prevent contamination. -Assist with meal records, inventory tracking, and cash receipt management. -Operate commercial kitchen equipment and ensure proper maintenance and cleaning. -Maintain organization and cleanliness of workstations, kitchen equipment, and storage areas. -Follow all local health and safety regulations and obtain a Food Safety Certification if required. -Support food service operations by assisting in various kitchen duties as needed. Cook Requirements -Experience in a commercial kitchen (preferred but not required). -Validated knowledge of food preparation principles, cooking methods, and food safety regulations. -Ability to obtain a Food Safety Certification. -Strong math and counting skills for portioning and measuring ingredients. -Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. -Ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure. -High School Diploma or equivalent required.
