Job Description Position Title: Warehouse Material Handler/Forklift Operator Department: Operations Reports to: Warehouse Manager This job description reflects a general assignment of essential functions; it does not include or restrict the tasks that may be assigned. GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: The purpose of this position is to perform the proper handling, placement and safeguarding of all Company inventory while safely operating equipment during the handling, storing, staging, loading and organizing materials within the warehouse while following company policies and procedures and working to optimize efficiency eliminate waste, shipping errors and product damage in addition to performing the housekeeping of the warehouse and other general warehousing tasks as necessary. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: ? Loads, unloads and moves materials within or near warehouse, performing any combination of following duties: reads pick lists and/or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be loaded, unloaded, moved. ? Obtain and maintain a certified forklift driver’s license. ? Loads materials into vehicles and uses appropriate retention methods to prevent shifting or damage in transit. ? Safely conveys materials to or from storage or work areas using pallet jacks, forklifts, reach truck, two-wheel dollies etc. ? Unloads and organizes incoming finished goods and raw materials for warehouse storage. ? Maintains accurate records of transactions as necessary, including accurate lot information. ? Moves materials or containers by hand when necessary following OSHA Safety Guidelines. ? Maintain proper rotation of finished goods stock based on Lot Number and Use By dates within the warehouse following First-In First-Out methodologies. ? Keeps warehouse floors free of debris and packaging dunnage. ? Consistently demonstrates and incorporates principals of safety for self and others into daily activities. ? Attends required safety training and participates in scheduled trainings and OSHA Safety. ? Consistently maintains acceptable level of productivity. ? Requires punctual and regular attendance. Time away from work is approved and taken in accordance with established policies. ? Performs all duties in a manner that promotes team concept and reflects positive culture, philosophy, and core values of respect, excellence and stewardship. ? Performs other duties as assigned by Warehouse Manager that would lead to successful operation of department and team. Major Work Relationships ? Routinely interacts and works well with all employees to help create a work environment conducive to meeting customer needs 2 ? Work closely with Facilities Maintenance Manager, Operations Manager and Logistics Manager and other production workers. Education, Experience and Skills & Abilities ? High School Diploma or equivalent required ? Plant, manufacturing or warehouse experience preferred ? Forklift experience required ? Supervisory experience preferred but not required ? Attention to detail and organizational skills ? Ability to produce quality work within deadlines ? Ability to follow written and verbal instruction ? Ability to operate material handling equipment, i.e. pallet jacks, forklifts ? Complete routine and repetitive processes efficiently and thoroughly ? Ability to bend, lift and carry 50 lbs. ?
