Job Description
A chemical distribution, plastic recycling manufacturing company is seeking a Maintenance Technician.
Shift: 11am-7:30pm Monday-Friday
Location: Montgomery, IL.
Pay rate: $28-$35
Hiring requirements: Resume & on-site interview required
Back ground check & Drug test required before starting
General Policy:
a. Assist with the repair, maintenance and installation of machines, tools and equipment.
b. Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production and warehouse equipment and
perform scheduled maintenance repairs.
c. Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and adjust.
d. Assist with the regular preventive maintenance on machines, and other equipment as
indicated in the Preventive Maintenance program.
e. Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and
service.
f. Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in
performing duties.
g. Detect faulty operations, and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
h. Basic or general building maintenance, ground maintenance (snow plowing) and repair.
i. Improving and repairing equipment and work areas to provide a clean safe work
environment.
j. Assist with communicating with 3rd party contractors on repairs or equipment.
k. Ensure compliance of all safety programs.
l. Follow up on monthly safety audits.
m. Assist the Safety and Environmental team in building and implementing all necessary and
required OSHA written programs.
n. Must be able to lift 55 lbs. repeatedly

Job Requirements
Education:
a. High school diploma or GED required.
b. Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
c. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or
oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in
standardized situations.
d. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications and aptitude to learn new applications.
e. Excellent multi-tasking, time management and organization skills.
Experience:
a. 2-4 years relevant experience required
b. General maintenance skills (lubrication, electrical troubleshooting and repair, plumbing,
drilling, basic tools usage and handling).
c. Good knowledge and use of basic maintenance hand tools.
d. Ability to meet physical requirements of maintenance area.
e. Must be willing to work overtime or on rotating workdays or shifts as required.
f. Welding and fabrication skills is a plus.
g. Instrumentation and electrical maintenance knowledge is a plus.
Physical Requirements / Demands:
1. While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to communicate verbally,
read, and comprehend information.
2. On occasion the incumbent will perform repetitive motions that require constant grasping, holding, and
frequent finger dexterity.
3. Frequently, the duties require color distinction, visual inspection, and measuring/assembling at
distances close to the eye.
4. While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to travel by foot, forklift,
golf cart, vehicle, or other means of transportation which require sitting, waiting, walking, and standing
for long and short periods of time.
5. The duties will require constant lifting of a weight 30 lbs. and less, frequently 30-60 lbs., occasionally 60-
85 lbs., and with assistance on a rare basis, over 85 lbs.
6. The duties will require occasional pushing and pulling up to 90 lbs.
7. On occasion, the duties may require bending, squatting, crawling, and reaching, climbing, and working in
heights above 75 feet from ground level.
8. Ability to work in varying temperatures, depending on the seasons.
