Heavy Equipment Operator
DETAILS
1st shift
Location: SAINT CHARLES, MO
About the Heavy Equipment Operator role
– Manipulates or depresses crane controls, such as pedals, levers, and buttons, to regulate the speed and direction of crane and hoist movement according to written, verbal, or signal instructions.
– Cleans and maintains crane and hoisting mechanism.
– Inspects crane for defective parts notifies supervisor of defects or malfunctions and completes daily shift report.
– Performs visual inspection including taking samples, recording raw material characteristics, and receiving documentation.
– Communicates with management on inventory and raw material selection.
– Responsible for housekeeping in and around the operational area.
– Assist maintenance in proper upkeep of the crane and fill out maintenance work orders as necessary.
– Daily inspection of lifting devices (chains, hooks, slings, wire rope) to ensure fitness of purpose.
– Utilize a small JCB telehandler to material handling steel plate, pallets, and equipment.
– Utilize cutting torches, plasma cutters, and welding equipment.
– Utilize various hand tools and equipment.
– Perform other various tasks within the manufacturing process of helical steel pipe.

Job Requirements
– Steel toe boots and sleeved shirts required employee’s responsibility.
– Hard hat, safety glasses, ear plugs, and protective gloves provided by Trinity.
– Must be able to work in changing ambient temperatures.
– Must be able to work on your feet for extended periods.
– Overhead or stationary crane experience.
– Mobile or heavy equipment experience.
