Job Description

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a variety of work including the maintenance and repair of buildings and grounds in assigned area(s).? The Maintenance Technician may be responsible for oversight or delegation of responsibilities within the maintenance operation. Job Responsibilities o Lead and coordinate the work of others, without direct performance management responsibilities o Schedules and assigns daily work assignments to a team and oversees the completion of tasks o Inspects assigned area on a routine basis and performs maintenance where necessary to keep facility in functioning and serviceable condition o Completes daily, weekly, or monthly checklists of pre-scheduled building and equipment maintenance procedures o Repairs various fixtures and hardware such as doors, windows, minor appliances, office equipment, etc. o Report on any major maintenance needs and recommends corrective action as appropriate o Mentors employees on minor tasks to correct mistakes At Aramark, developing new skills and doing what it takes to get the job done make a positive impact for our employees and for our customers. In order to meet our commitments, job duties may change or new ones may be assigned without formal notice.| Qualifications o Demonstrated expertise in maintenance preferred o Must be able to follow basic safety procedures and precautions due to physical risks o Exercise considerable judgment based on previous experience to solve problems o May act as an informal resource for those with less experience o Operates with limited supervision o Demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal o Must be available to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends – Must have a valid Driver’s License and clean driving history, as the Maintenance Technician will operate a company-provided vehicle to travel to service a second main location and/or smaller satellite locations and to purchase supplies. This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective equipment (PPE).

Job Requirements

Qualifications/Certifications Requires at least 5 years of progressive, responsible experience in one or more of the skilled trades. Leadership skills and experience preferred. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent experience. Considerable knowledge of practices, methods, and techniques pertaining to building, grounds and facilities maintenance and repair. Must be well organized, computer literate with solid understanding of MS office software. Ability to communicate optimally, both orally and in writing. Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license. Must understand the value of a work order system to support implementation of CMMS. Experience with CMMS systems and building management systems is a plus. A universal refrigeration certificate a plus. Considerable knowledge of safety standards and precautions pertaining to building and facilities maintenance and repair and the use of power tools. Training in government safety regulations a plus where applicable. Ability to work long hours in inclement weather and emergency situations, such as snow removal operations, storms, etc. Ability to effectively communicate on radios; and hear over equipment noise. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, vendors, and the public. Ability to lift 50 lb. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 lb. Ability to wear a respirator and/or self-contained breathing apparatus as outlined in the Industrial Standard for Respirator Use.
